Lighting: favorite pendants

Lighting is such an important element in all spaces and shouldn’t be overlooked.  Luckily, we’re surrounded by continuous inspiration from lighting designers and manufacturers from both near and far, and both classic and contemporary designs.

We’ve compiled some of our current favorite pendants below to add the right amount of whimsy—or simplicity—where your project needs it the most! What’s your favorite?

Tom Dixon Spot

Spot is sleek, simple, & directional – you can position the light as you’d like! This collection also has two beautiful wet-rated wall lights. Bonus: 15% off through March 19th (along with the whole Tom Dixon lighting & furniture collection)!

Buds

by Rodolfo Dordoni for Foscarini

A family of simple shapes realized in Italian blown glass in various colors, the Buds’ timelessness create an elegant contemporary atmosphere. Evermore beautiful in person (trust us, the images don’t do this justice)—these pendants are great on their own or clustered. Stop by our showroom to see!

Shape Up by Ladies and Gentlemen Studio for Roll and Hill

Ladies and Gentlemen Studio is just hot right now- they’re definitely among our current favorite designers, creating innovate and playful products right in Brooklyn. Fitting with the rest of Roll & Hill’s collection, this pendant family is elevated with beautiful brass details and impeccable hand-crafted quality.

THIN by Juniper

Modern and minimal, the popular THIN linear LED system from Brooklyn-based Juniper Design is now available as a vertical pendant! THIN vertical can be done in satin brass, satin nickel, and black oxide finishes, various segment lengths, and as a single drop or clustered together in whatever quantity you’d prefer.

Gubi Multi-lite by Louis Weisdorf

If you’ve seen these in your favorite design publications (just recently in Arch Digest for example) - you’re not alone. But, rest assured, we are not tired of these- quite the opposite! From 1972, Multi-lite pendants stay current and classic, dressed now in many fun colors and finishes-plus, the shade is articulated so it can be moved to direct light where you want.

Perch by Umut Yamac for Moooi

Moooi usually stuns with whimsical and technically-impressive lighting. This newer series from Umut Yamac meets the mark and then some: the little birds actually sway to-and-fro on their “perch”! Functional sculpture at its best- and available as a sconce, floor lamp, or table lamp too.

Bocci 84

All of Bocci’s handmade collections are stunning- but we’re absolutely captivated by the 84 series. White glass interior is captured inside a fine copper mesh- then plunged into molten clear glass. The interior glass is blown so a pillowed formation occurs around the mesh. These can be clustered or hung individually – the possibilities are endless!
